Phison Secure USB To Protect Against Newly Identified Cyber Attack

A new class of cyber attack is recently identified by a Germany-based researcher through replacing original firmware with malicious firmware into USB devices.

Phison provides a series of secure USB solutions which are able to avoid the aforementioned risk. Phison’s secure USB solutions are implemented with controllers specially designed to support digital signature authentication. By way of this digital signature authentication mechanism, it is able to protect USB devices from unauthorized firmware change.

Phison has offered secure USB solutions for years, and customer products using Phison’s secure USB solutions have been granted reputable certifications (e.g., FIPS-197, FIPS-140-2, etc).

For other product lines, Phison is also planning to strengthen the security mechanism of the devices in future shipment. The new implementation will enhance protection from unauthorized firmware change to the devices. As a leading manufacturer of USB storage devices, Phison is willing to make best efforts to contribute to the improvement of IT security.
