Phison CES 2016 Announcements

CES, Las Vegas (January 6, 2016) –

Today Phison Electronics Corporation (8299.TW) is showcasing flash storage solutions of the future at CES 2016 ranging from PCIe Gen3x4 NVMe SSD, next generation SATA SSD based on 1Znm TLC flash, USB Type-C flash drive that allows single port devices to charge simultaneously, and UHS-II 128GB ultra performing SD/microSD card reaching up to 280 MB/s read and 245 MB/s write transfer rates.

The PS5007-E7, the latest PCI Gen3x4 NVMe SSD controller is in the final phase of performance tuning, currently achieving sequential performance of 2600 MB/s read and 1500 MB/s write, random performance(burst) of 300k IOPS read and 250k IOPS write, and random performance(sustained) of 36K IOPS based on 1Znm MLC. We expect customer qualifications to begin in February and consumer products available in March of 2016. The controller supports up expand to 4 Terabytes.

The PS3110-S10, a SATA III/6Gbps controller now supports the latest 1Znm NAND flash technology. Pairing with 1Znm TLC, the S10 controller not only saturates the SATA bus but also adds additional proprietary technology to provide a robust solution. These S10 based solutions have already been awarded numerous times since its recent release to the market.

The C-Thru Drive, a unique next generation USB Type-C flash device that enables users to simultaneously charge their single port mobile solutions while accessing content. This allows users to not have to hassle taking additional dongles while providing performance that is higher than most mobile phone and tablet transfer speeds.

The PS8036, an ultra high speed UHS-II SD/microSD controller is the ideal solution for consumers looking to not only expand the storage capacity but also increase the performance of their SD capable mobile tablet or phone. The PS8036 is capable of achieving up to 280 MB/s read and 245 MB/s write transfer speeds which was demonstrated at CES 2016 to double the built in SSD storage speed of the latest 2 in 1 tablet.
