Phison Electronics (8299.TW), industry leader in flash controller and NAND solutions, today releases the VPG 65 compliant 1066X CompactFlash (CF) Card solution, supporting a minimum of 65MB/s continuous write speed for smooth high resolution 4K video playback. The solution comprises of the PS3016-P10 and the latest 64 layer 3D TLC NAND. It can reach sequential read and write speeds of 160/150 MB/s. In the professional camera and camcorder market, the CF Card solution meets the demand for guaranteed performance for removable storage.
The growth of the global video market has been surging with the integration of the internet and connectivity. New video applications such as surveillance, car recorders, and professional photography all require stable and reliable memory cards with a guaranteed level of performance. Filmmaking using super high 4k and 8k video resolutions and using the top DSLR and mirrorless cameras is becoming common.

Phison Electronics Corp., a worldwide leader in NAND controller and storage solutions, announces the shipment of 3D 64-Layer 4-bit per cell QLC NAND SATA solutions with its PS3111-S11T controller. “A QLC die doubles the density of the TLC. The successful launch of QLC-based products would mean a lot to the memory industry,” said KS Pua, Chairman and CEO of Phison, “SSDs are becoming more affordable with larger capacities than ever.”
Mr. Pua notes that the release of the next generation 3D 64-Layer QLC NAND Flash has been pulled-in by about a quarter. This has taken the industry by surprise and we have to thank the NAND manufacturers’ technology advancements for that. With this trend, the market penetration of SSDs are expected to accelerate. Phison is proactively taking the lead in enabling the QLC for a series of controllers, starting with the PS3111-S11T + QLC SATA SSD solution.
The new 3D 64-Layer QLC NAND has a mono die density of 128GB. Powered by the PS3111-S11T controller, the SSD solution has capacities of 256GB~1TB. Phison’s 4th generation SmartECC™ engine exceeds the standard QLC controller requirements and provides outstanding performance for client SSDs.

As 3D NAND production increases in 2018 and the cost hitting the sweet spot, the number of SSD projects surges, surpassing previous expectations. Phison has confirmed over 35 designs for the SATA PS3111-S11 and PCIe PS5008-E8/E8T controllers. The new powerful PCIe PS5012-E12 is receiving an overwhelming response from the market with more than 20 projects kicking-off in a single month. In the private showroom Phison will demonstrate the PS5012-E12 PCIe Gen 3x4 NVMe SSD controller, which is now available for customer sampling.
PS5012-E12, the ultra-high performance SSD controller, delivers best in class speeds over 3400 MB/s sequential read and over 3000 MB/s sequential write, with random 4K up to 600,000 IOPS read and 600,000 IOPS write performance. The controller supports up to 8TB and is available in the M.2, U.2, and AIC form factors.

PS5012-E12DC, the enterprise optimized solution of PS5012, is tuned for maximize endurance, low latency, and sustained performance consistency, targeting the enterprise data center and cloud environments. This enterprise controller is set for customer sampling in early Q3, 2018.
Phison will be showcasing its latest flash technologies at COMPUTEX Taipei June 5-9, 2018.
