Phison’s Max IOPS microSD card is your Android’s new best friend!
September 28th, 2016
Phison Electronics is proud to announce its Max IOPS microSD solutions series targeting Android users! Phison’s Max IOPS microSD guarantees the best “adopted storage” experience, especially for those using Android 6.0 (the Marshmallow) and above. With its optimized high IOPS, Phison’s Max IOPS microSD is a crucial asset boosting performance-intensive operations in Android phones.
What is “Adopted Storage”?
With the release of Android 6.0(the Marshmallow) a new feature officially named “Adopted Storage” was introduced, enabling cellphones with a microSD slot to “adopt” the storage of an inserted microSD. Specifically, this allows the external storage to merge with the device’s embedded storage, combining into a single large “storage pool”.
Max IOPS Ensures Compatible Adoptable Storage
In order to be adopted as internal storage, the microSD would require benchmarking by the Android device. The external storage device must pass this benchmark or it is incapable of being utilized as adopted storage.
HTC10 (left) Chinese ver. & HTC A9 (right) indicating your microSD is too slow to be adopted!!
Android’s benchmark is a simulation performance test, with the read\write speed and IOPS of the microSD as the major factors for performance and ultimately determining the compatibility for adopted storage.
To better gauge acceptable criteria for adopted storage, SD 5.1 introduced “App Performance class” , a new rating system focused on cataloguing microSD performances for demanding applications. Phison’s Max IOPS series readily meets the SD5.1 specification: A1 App Performance criteria (1500R/500W), ensuring future compatibility with modern Android phones.
Considering these requirements for high performing cards, Phison’s Max IOPS series guarantee the best adopted microSD experience with its maximized IOPS performance. Not only does it meets SD 5.1 specification criteria of “App Performance class-A1”, it also boasts impressive benchmarks that tops all other world class SD developers.
Phison Max IOPs solutions is proven to have the shortest benchmark run time, ensuring the ideal experience for adopted storage users. Phison’s PS8210 is Max IOPS ready for smartphones and tablets, with up to 64GB of storage and 15nm TLC NAND Flash.
