Corsair Unveils FORCE LS Series SSD with Phison PS3108 Controller
Corsair recently unveils FORCE LS series SSD in the market. TheSSDReview makes the following comments:
1. Read/Write Performance is the best of all other three Corsair SSDs.
2. Phison’s PS-3108 controller is a solid performer.
3. Phison’s controller is definitely competitive, even besting some other drives based on other controllers in certain tests.
“The top read speed of 556,663 (556.6 MB/s) bests many SATA III SSDs on the market. It beats Corsair’s Neutron and Neutron GTX, and rubs shoulders with the SandForce-based Force GS. At 535.6 MB/s the write speeds are even stronger, and best all three of the other Corsair SSDs we referred to.”
“As implemented in Corsair’s Force Series LS 240GB SSD, the Phison PS-3108 controller is a solid performer. While the overall read performance of the Force LS is certainly competitive, the write speeds in many benchmarks were surprisingly strong.”

PS3108 Delivers the Best Real Performance in DramExchange Benchmark
Random IOPS is always a major index to rate SSD real application performance. This index can demonstrate real program performance instead of sequential performance. Recently DramExchange just did a benchmark for current 120/128GB SSDs in the market. Phison got the best score in AS-SSD random IOPS benchmark, which simulated most desktop/laptop PC application in real world performance.
Phison PS3108 delivers the best performance to beat all the other SSDs in this test. Therefore, SanDisk and Plextor using SandForce and Marvell controllers can’t beat Phison3108 in this test result.
The only one other SSD, which delivered a similar result, was KingFast. It use SLC NAND in its product, but Phison deliver the best result with Toshiba/SanDisk MLC NAND flash. It proved that Phison is the expert of SSD controller.
