Phison has formulated waste management regulations, clearly requiring the classification, storage and cleaning standards of various wastes, and regularly compiles and analyzes waste output data. From 2020 to 2022, although Phison's waste output increased due to a large increase in the number of employees, the proportion of waste recycling increased from 20.91% to 25.21%, showing that Phison's main waste disposal channel has gradually switching from incineration to recycling.
The amount of global waste generated is growing year by year. Coupled with the impact of limited land resources and difficulty in removal, waste reduction has become an urgent issue of international concern. Since 2022, Phison has begun to promote waste reduction and is committed to reducing waste in the factory by focusing on the four working themes of "setting reduction targets", "implementing reduction plans", "increase the resources invested " and "cultivating employee awareness". We also use recycling instead of incineration to effectively reduce waste from source to end-of-pipe treatment.
In 2023, Phison's general waste recycling ratio (employee domestic waste + general industrial waste) increased to 46.31%, and the recycling rate of hazardous industrial waste also increased from 0 to 0.0095%. In the recycling of general waste, waste generated by employees’ lives (waste glass containers, waste plastics, waste aluminum containers, kitchen waste, etc.) accounts for as high as 85.7%, showing that changes in employees’ lifestyles are an important factor in increasing recycling rates. In the future, Phison will also continue to cultivate employees' awareness of waste reduction and implement more diversified waste recycling programs.
