Given the growing attention and requirements from government agencies and international brands regarding net-zero emissions by 2050, and the increasing trend of multinational corporations incorporating carbon footprint and carbon reduction performance into their procurement criteria, Phison Electronics scheduled two days of training on September 13th and September 18th, inviting professional consultants from Ching Yeh Technology Company to our headquarter to discuss how to conduct "ISO 14064 (Scope 3) Inventorying and ISO 14067 Carbon Footprint."

During the course, the lecturer shared his experiences in guiding and verifying ISO 14064 carbon inventories and ISO 14067 carbon footprints. This helped our internal departments such as product engineering, production management, procurement, HR, MIS, QA, general affairs, facilities management, environmental health and safety (EHS), import / export, etc., gain a better understanding of carbon issues. The course also delved into practical discussions on direct emissions and indirect emissions in operational processes, making participants realize that carbon emissions are part of daily life.

Moreover, product carbon footprint (PCF) is a hot topic in recent years. Through this two-day course, each department learned how to estimate greenhouse gas emissions throughout the entire lifecycle of an activity or a product—from raw material acquisition to manufacturing, distribution, sales, use until final waste disposal—using the methodology outlined in ISO 14067. This knowledge will enhance our company's ability to build an internal product carbon footprint management system. The ultimate goal is to grasp our company's complete carbon emission volume and emission hotspots so that we can develop a reduction strategy and demonstrate our performance in reducing carbon emissions.
